Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I pay shipping fees for my BeYou?
We will collect shipping fees closer to the shipping date, with a simple to use pledge management survey. We estimate that the shipping fee per chair will be about $50-$100, depending on the destination country. Once we have stats for each area of the world, we will negotiate pricing based on volume and we’ll pass on any savings to you, ensuring you pay the lowest fair price possible for your BeYou.
Do I have to pay VAT/tax when I receive my BeYou?
Why is delivery in October?
We know you can’t wait to get your BeYou. We’ve been very conservative in setting the public timeline with delivery in October in order to account for any challenges or delays.
Because of that, we expect to deliver on or before our set timeline and we will make sure to send regular updates so all our pre-order customers are aware of our progress at all times. The internal estimated delivery date that we’re doing our best to hit is actually much earlier than October.
How much weight can the BeYou chair support?
BeYou can withstand a maximum of 400 lbs / 180 kg. For the sitting positions where you use the backrest as a seat, we’ve tested it so far to 275 lb or 125 kg.
What are the dimensions of the BeYou chair?
Please make sure to check out the Details & Specs section higher up in this page for all the info about the dimensions.
Do you offer a warranty?
The BeYou chair comes with a 1 year limited warranty on manufacturing defects.
How can a premium chair be sold at such an affordable price?
Our aim is to bring you the most versatile, premium chair possible at a fair price and we do that by eliminating the many middlemen from a traditional supply chain so we bring the chair from the production line directly to our customers.
Our crowdfunding backers and pre-order customers will have the added benefit of getting the BeYou chair at the lowest possible price and we hope to have you among our early supporters.
With BeYou, we believe we strike the perfect balance between premium quality and mass market appeal. Thanks to online platforms and communities, we are able to significantly alter the traditional retail model so we can bring BeYou from the production line directly to our customers.
That way we get to eliminate the many middlemen (which usually add very high markups to products) and pass these savings on to our customers who get to enjoy a high quality product at a fair price. It's a win-win!
What about certifications?
We are working with suppliers with decades of experience manufacturing high-quality furniture. BeYou will be tested for prolonged use in the factory and again by relevant agencies for proper certifications before we kick off mass production. By the time it gets delivered to our pre-order customers, BeYou would have completed all the necessary tests.
We’ll share all of these important stages with our pre-order customers through email updates along with pictures and videos for reference.
What is the material used for the wing and backrest hinges?
The hinges are made out of powder coated steel. Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatic and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light.
Do the wheels lock in place?
We use smart auto-locking wheels, which adapt to your weight placed on the chair. When you’re sitting down, it’s easy to move around with just a push of your legs. When you get up to get a coffee, the chair stays put because the wheels automatically lock in place. You can also use BeYou with the fixed casters (included in your package) instead of wheels because it's designed to look and perform great in either scenario. With BeYou, it's all up to you!
What materials are you using for the cushions?
Our cushions are made from top quality foam with a high density of 2.37 lbs/ft3 (38kg/mc3), with a thickness of 2.5" (6cm). We also use a special cushion fabric that’s stain resistant and withstands wear & tear exceptionally well.
What wood is BeYou made with?
Your transforming chair is made with top quality oak veneer. This means the wooden parts of BeYou are beautifully finished, plus very strong, stable and durable.
